What About NDIS and your NDIS provider?

The NDIS is rolling out in Queensland on 1st July 2016. At this time it is anticipated it will roll out in geographic areas. As part of the NDIS plan to have early transition sites, the scheme became available in the Local Government Areas of Townsville City, Charters Towers Regional Council and Palm Island Aboriginal Shire Townsville, from January 2016.

The Commonwealth and Queensland Governments are currently negotiating a Bilateral Agreement which will detail how the NDIS will roll out across the rest of Queensland. We will attempt to keep you updated on the progress and suggest that you stay in touch with what is happening either through the official NDIS website or through other information services.

Part of the NDIS is about providing supports and products to people through NDIS registered providers. As a service, I Can Direct will need to register as an NDIS provider to continue to provide support and services to people with disabilities into the future. We will only be able register when NDIS rolls out in our area. Services outside of the rollout areas at this time cannot register. This may change as the NDIS roll out occurs in Queensland.
